‘Kveik’ is a Norwegian dialect term for yeast and is derived from the old Norse ‘kvikk' meaning vigorous and fast, the context being healthy and lively. Kveik yeast are fast fermenting (48-72hr) and high temperature tolerant.

For typical Norwegian Farmhouse ales plus a wide range of classic and contemporary ale styles including American West and East Coast IPA and NEIPA, pale ales, blondes and lagers.

This dried ale yeast is of Belgian origin. Selected for its ability to ferment Belgian style beers, it can produce fruity and spicy flavours. Depending on the temperature of fermentation, a range of aromas can be produced from darker fig notes through to lighter tropical and banana. Typically suited to Belgian beers of all colours.

Perfect for brewing Hefeweizen styles, Banana Split performs best between 19 to 24°C and offers alcohol tolerance of up to 12% ABV.
